"I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date!"

This morning we had a very exciting visitor.

Perhaps he's a few days late... but still!

My mom shot these photos before I was even up this morning.
How often is it that we get the Easter Bunny in our own back yard?

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY

On April 20th someone became another year older!

   Happy fifth birthday buddy!

For his Birthday, our Little Superhero had his heart set on going to Chuck E. Cheese.

       The Birthday Boy.

The Baby with his favourite purple dino.

With the big cheese himself!
We went to Chuck E. Cheese on Monday, and on Tuesday we had the Grandma's come over for a special Birthday dinner.

Here's the buggy cake we make for him.

How old are you?
The next morning was his REAL Birthday, and he got up just as early as he usually does.

Here he is with his presents.

A perfect Birthday Breakfast.
Make a wish!
Since we were on a roll, we just decided to make the ordeal into a Birthday week, and had his party with                                                                 his friends the next day.
At first we were planning on revisiting last years theme of superheros... but ended up going with bugs.
Which was fun, and totally fitting.

SPIDER CUPCAKES!

We had the table covered in brown paper so the kids could make their own wonderful creations.

Artists at work!

Downstairs I set up a human sized spider-web for the kids to play around with.

Buggy treats ready to be eaten!
(I don't think anyone ended up eating them... the cupcakes were egg-free, dairy-free and wheat-free, and I don't think they were the tastiest).
At least they look cute.

YUM.

Food and friends!

After snacks, it was present time.

The Birthday Boy got a little help with his presents.

At the end of the party we went outside and played with some silly-string that our Birthday Boy got as a present.
It was fun, and the kids felt just like Spider-man!

Happy Birthday little brother!!!
I can't believe you are 5 already!

Easter Sunday

Yesterday we enjoyed a lovely morning rooting through our family Easter basket, going to church and coming home for (gluten-free)french toast and peameal bacon.

Here are the kids with some fun family spring things that they found in the Easter Basket.

The Baby loves to entertain.

ALL OF THE KIDS!

Me and my baby brother.

The Princess found a fun game of jumpy bunnies in the Easter Basket.

Here she is, waiting for it to jump.

Surprised when it did jump.

And happy when she caught it.
This is another fun gift that we played with.

BUBBLES!
Is there a kid doesn't love them?

They are fun to take pictures of.

And pop too...

We have a robin family happening right outside our back window!
It's was so exciting to see the parents building the nest, and now watching them keep their little eggs safe                                                                            and warm.

WHAT A CUTIE!
Even though we had only been at the nature center the day before, we just had to go back again!  It was a lot less busy than the day before. It was closer to what we are used too... but we still saw more                                                        people there than we are used to.
And I took just about as many photos!

It looks like the beavers had nibbled on this tree a while ago.

It's interesting how this tree is growing basically out of nothing!

A beautiful view!

More fresh beaver markings!

Fascinating!

Always on the look out.

Curling bark.

Water and friends!

Pussy willow.

Trillium bud.
We've been to the nature area so many times, but we have never gotten farther than our usual frog spot.
This season I am determined to explore every path they have.
Everytime I go there I find something new to see.

Fence.

Puffs.

This leaf has been holding on all winter!
Don't let go now.
Soon you'll have friends.

Moss

Budding!

Ferns.
After the nature area we had to come home to have dinner with our friends, and have our EASTER EGG HUNT! My friend and I played the Easter Bunny and made a challenging search for the kids, who assured                                          us that they were ready for the "expert level hunt".
Our favourite hiding spot was up in the bird feeder.

The hunt begins!

The cutie with an empty basket.

Did he find something?

Is there and egg in there?

Showing off his find.

Flying!

Fun.

Happy Easter!
